Samsung Galaxy S IV

This surely isn’t the Samsung Galaxy S IV, but it would have been pretty darn sweet if it was

With the Samsung Galaxy S III still selling like hot cakes, it is highly unlikely that we will see its successor break cover in the nearest future. However, speculation about the next generation Samsung flagship is already picking up steam. The latest bit even comes with a hands-on video of a Samsung Galaxy S IV concept. The device in the render you see above packs specifications, based on the latest rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S IV. They include a 2 GHz quad-core Exynos CPU, 5″ Full HD Super AMOLED display (the authors of the video call it Grand AMOLED) with no bezel, 13 MP camera, Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, and a laser keyboard dock. All this goodness is packed in an ultra-slim body, which looks like an evolution of the Samsung Galaxy S III.

Here’s the Samsung Galaxy S IV concept in action.

Samsung Galaxy S4

Samsung Galaxy S4 Release February 2013

Samsung Galaxy S4 launch date set for February 2013, 5-inch screen

Sources have said that Samsung plans to unveil its next flagship Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S4, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2013. It will be released the following March at the latest.

An official at the company's headquarters let slip the information a few days after Apple unveiled its new iPhone 5, presumably in direct response. However, the source does not wish to be named.

The official told Korean newspaper The Korean Times of Samsung's intent, which has also been corroborated by local parts suppliers. And the unnamed party claims that the new handset will offer "more than enough to curb Apple’s latest iPhone". It will definitely support 4G networks.

One of the local suppliers also claimed that the screen-size will be 5-inches, up from 4.8-inches on the Galaxy S III. It will also be an OLED display.

If the phone is announced at a Samsung Unpacked event preceding MWC next year, it will will come as slightly surprising, as the Samsung Galaxy S III was launched at a dedicated event in May this year, effectively filling the hole that Apple left behind when it moved its iPhone launches from summer to autumn.

However, the Samsung Galaxy S II was launched during Mobile World Congress in 2011, so it's not completely unheard of.

One of a kind Samsung Mobile Store opens in Paris

Samsung opened its first Samsung Mobile Store in Paris, France on December 1. It’s dedicated to mobile devices only and offers a similar experience and support as the Apple’s Retail Stores. The store spreads to 170 square meters and you can find and try every one of the latest Samsung’s smartphones, players, slates, portable cameras and notebooks.
The Mobile Store is probably also the one place where you can find all original accessories for Samsung’s latest gadgets.Samsung Mobile Store also doubles as a showroom for Samsung’s distribution partners as well as a place where children can learn and play with the new technologies.
Just to avoid the confusion, Samsung already has its own stores around the world, but this is the first one exclusively dedicated to the mobile technologies. So you won’t find TVs, PCs and other non-mobile Samsung devices.

Google I/O coming back next year on May 15 in San Francisco

We are still in December but Google has already announced the dates for the next year’s Google I/O event, which will be taking place in the Moscone Center West in San Francisco from May 15 to 17, 2013.

f you’re not aware of Google I/O, it’s Google’s developer event where developers from around the world come together to check out the new stuff Google has in store for them, attend all the training sessions and interact with other developers.
This is also when Google usually announces the next version of its Android operating system. If the past events are any indications we will likely be seeing Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie being announced at this event, along with updates to Google’s other services and devices.
Google will be announcing the registration details in February 2013 for those who are interested in attending these events.
